My closet is about 1/2 functional right now. It is going to be a problem when I need to dig out my sweaters. Nathan's bed was in our room, in front of our closets when he died. Sometime that afternoon I grabbed the pillow he had been lying on and threw it in one side of my closet. The pillow has been followed by a bag from the funeral home with things from his memorial service. I also threw in a large bag of chemo and accutane that fell on me when I tried to get something out of my bathroom closet. It needs to be disposed of safely and I am not sure how. Lastly, there is another bag from the funeral home in my closet - it contains a temporary container with Nathan's ashes in it. I guess we're working on the avoidance method for all those things right now.
Perhaps I can do without my sweaters this year.

Wow, what can anyone say to that? That is one closet with some "heavy" things in it. I dread cleaning my closet, and its just full of junk! All I can say is (((BIG HUGS))) and that we are always thinking and praying for you guys...
Can someone else come in a sort for you? I can totally understand not facing any of that.
What a difficult place to find yourself in. So sad, Susan. I'm just so sorry. I don't know if you folks down in the springs are feeling this chill in the air, but up here in Denver, it's getting chilly. I think you'll be needing the sweaters. I've kept you linked on my blog, and I hope you don't mind.
Awe honey! Have someone come help you with that. I can only imagine. It was so very difficult for me to go through my mom's things and I am so thankful my sister was with me. Lots of tears were shed, but that was the only way I could get through it. I am here for you if you ever need to talk. I know a child is different from a mother, but I understand the feeling of loss. Maybe you could go buy yourself a couple pretty sweaters to do you till your ready.((HUGS))
I don't know what to say but wanted tell you how sorry I am and send some **comfort** your way.
Maybe someone will be able to come and help you retrieve your sweaters?
I just wanted you to know that you are being thought of...thank you for sharing yourself through your blog. You have touched my life in such amazing ways. I pray for great strength and peace for you as you face such painful days.
Peace be with you, Susan.
love -- Katie
I think Matt has a really good suggestion about someone coming and help you sort. My Mom helped my brother after his wife died and I don't think he could have let anyone else do that for him, probably not even himself.
